After a long COVID-19 closure, Buffalo Bill’s Primm is finally back open.

After being closed for more than two years because of the coronavirus pandemic, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino in Primm, Nevada, reopened last Friday.

Due to COVID-19 rules, all Nevada casinos had to close for a while in March 2020. Most of these places reopened by 2021, but a small number did not. Buffalo Bill’s was one of those casinos, but unlike some others in the state, it didn’t have to close for good. Now that the property near the border of California and Nevada is open, the owners are hoping for a comeback.

Primm Valley Resorts is happy that the reels are spinning again full time at Buffalo Bill’s. “We will continue to add to our multi-million-dollar upgrades in 2023,” Primm Valley Resorts said in a tweet on Dec. 24.

Affinity Gaming is in charge of that entity. Primm Valley Resorts operates Whiskey Pete’s and its namesake facility on the state line in Primm. Whiskey Pete’s is open, but the Primm Valley Resort’s future remains uncertain.

Buffalo Bill is making a comeback.

Buffalo Bill’s might reconnect with Primm residents and draw Californians driving I-15 to Las Vegas in the new year.

Operator’s website reads, “The hotel located 25 minutes south of Las Vegas on Interstate 15 near the Southern Nevada/California border. It boasts two towers with over 1,200 guest rooms and suites, a Buffalo-shaped pool, amusement rides, live entertainment at the Star of the Desert Arena, and fantastic dining at Denny’s, Panda Express, and Cucas Mexican Food.”

The arena is improving to accommodate 20–25 concerts annually. Media reports claim six or seven eateries will launch in the next months.
