Even though they made some embarrassing mistakes, the Dallas Cowboys still won on “Thursday Night Football.”

On “Thursday Night Football,” the Dallas Cowboys beat the Tennessee Titans, even though the Titans had more than a few chances to win. The Titans put pressure on the Cowboys all night and made them turn the ball over three times, but they still couldn’t pull off the surprise win.

The Titans’ offense and defense were both hurt, so this game should have gone more in favor of the Cowboys. That didn’t happen, though, and if Dallas wants to go far in the playoffs, they’ll have to play a lot better.

Before the last quarter of the game, Dallas was only ahead by four points. QB Dak Prescott had been in the game the whole time, and the Cowboys’ 27-13 win would depend on him using the rest of his energy.

Cowboys Not in Step

Prescott’s experience allowed him to stay calm under pressure, which let him throw for 282 yards and two touchdowns. Even though he threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, which kept the Titans in range, he was still able to do these things.

In the first half, Titans safety Kevin Byard was on fire, getting into Prescott’s head. Even though an injury made his defense weaker, he was still going to give it his all. He stole two passes from the Cowboys on back-to-back drives, making him a serious threat to Dallas.

Even though Byard tried hard, he couldn’t do it on his own. On both sides of the ball, the Titans had trouble and made a lot of mistakes.

The offense struggled with an inexperienced quarterback, Joshua Dobbs, but still made the Cowboys work hard for their win. Dobbs just joined the team on December 21. In his first game, he threw for 232 yards and a touchdown, but he also had an interception and two sacks.

At the half, Dallas was only ahead by 10-6. Then, in the third quarter, Prescott forgot about the missed chances in the first half. After a good drive, he first connected with tight end Dalton Schultz. This made the lead 17-6.

But the Titans’ offense came back with a TD that made the score 17-13. In the third quarter, nothing else happened, but Dallas came out strong in the fourth. Another touchdown pass to Schultz made it 24-13 for the Cowboys.

As time went on, the Titans couldn’t get any stronger, and a Dobbs interception ended their chances. By adding a field goal, Dallas increased its lead and made sure it would win.

Race Continues

Before the game started, it was pretty clear that the Cowboys would win. Tennessee was hurt and had a new quarterback. But Dallas didn’t take over the field like most people thought they would.

Even so, they did well enough for their backers to be happy. It also gave a little extra to those who took them on the spread.

The over/under is where many bettors may have lost, though. Most sportsbooks had the score set at 40 or 40.5, and the final score was right on, with some games ending in a tie.

The Cowboys are looking for a way to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East, but it’s not likely to happen. In January, the Eagles play the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants. If they lose both games, the standings would change.

Instead, Dallas should be thinking about its last game of the season against the Washington Commanders and the playoffs. They won last night, but if they don’t make big changes, they won’t be around for long.
